The inaugural CDR Fort Worth program has officially culminated with our highly anticipated Fort Worth Bus Tour. The day brought together our newly minted CDR Alumni, community partners, and local leaders to explore firsthand the single-family, multifamily, and commercial project, and community project pipelines driving neighborhood revitalization and housing affordability across the city.

In two chartered buses, our cohort, partners, and community leaders came together to celebrate local history, promising revitalization efforts, and the future of community-led development in Fort Worth through the initiatives of our CDR Cohort 3.
We kicked off the day at Blank Space, where we acknowledged all of the CDR Cohort 3 participants and learned about local small businesses in the Hadley Corridor.
Throughout the day, CDR developers presented their project overviews and shared the deeper "why" behind their work.
Developer project stops included:
- Alpha Family Group: 2721 Belzise Terrace
- The Precise Home Project: 1015 Stella St.
- Next Gen Builders Project: 2708 Vickery Blvd.
- 1622 Park Place LLC Project: 1700 South Fwy.
In addition to experiencing CDR member projects first hand, the bus tour also allowed attendees to experience revitalization projects and historical preservation efforts throughout Fort Worth at some key community stops.
Community Stops Included:
- The Renaissance House of Terrell Heights: A special thank you to Marnese Elder and Jennifer Giddings Brooks for providing us with a rich, deeply moving history lesson of the area.
- National Juneteenth Museum: We heard from Christopher Blay (Director of Public Programs), who shared an exclusive overview of the vision, architecture, and programming plans for this historic project.
- Fort Worth Community Land Trust:
Exploring the vital work being done at the Carroll Park Project.
Thanks to CDR Member Nehme Elbitar owner of Chadra Mezza for hosting the group and providing refreshments and charcuterie boxes. Nehme also shared insights about his development projects and restaurant operations.
This stop also featured a developer panel discussion with Dr. Shenequa Miller of SCM Integrity First Companies and Tracey Dews of Dews Custom Homes, moderated by Maggie Parker.
Following the tour, we returned to Blank Space and had the opportunity to experience the powerful "A Tree Grows In Stop 6" fine art exhibition inside theTubman Gallery.
To all of our brilliant developers who presented their work, our gracious hosts, our insightful speakers, and everyone who rode along with us, thank you for making the CDR Fort Worth program a resounding success. The tour may be over, but the work is just beginning!
