About Jay Taylor
Jay began his career in Houston, specializing in urban design and research before moving to HKS Inc., where he spent almost a decade focused predominantly on the hospitality sector, designing international hotels, resorts, and spas. This demanding, heavy design-focused work honed his skillset in conceptual design, master planning, construction documents, and the direct interface between design and construction. After returning to Dallas from Shanghai, Jay transitioned to ownership, founding Juxta Developments in 2015 to focus on local residential remodels, commercial fit-outs, and new ground-up construction.
Beyond his development work, Jay is committed to civil service, city policy, and community outreach, having served on several City of Dallas Task Forces and the Landmark Commission. Within his profession, he serves on the Board for Preservation Dallas and contributes pro bono development services through the Texas Real Estate Council’s Professional Services Committee. Jay actively coordinates local repair initiatives, including the rehabilitation of over 25 homes in the 10th Street historical district, demonstrating a commitment to stabilizing and improving the communities in which he works.
